With increasing homelessness and the inability of affordable housing to keep up with demand, Orange County municipalities are struggling to implement housing solutions that protect vulnerable populations while ensuring the safety and economic health of surrounding communities. Fears of declining home values and increasing crime rates undergird community resistance to affordable housing solutions. Are these fears justified? Can we balance the needs of seemingly disparate populations? You are invited to hear answers to these and other critical questions.
